Recovery
Minimal downtime — most patients return to normal activities within a day or two, with mild swelling or bruising at insertion points resolving within a week.
A thread lift uses fine, dissolvable surgical threads — inserted under the skin with a needle, no incisions required — to lift mildly sagging skin, most commonly around the cheeks, jawline, and brows. The threads have tiny barbs or cones that grip the underlying tissue, providing an immediate subtle lift while also stimulating the body's own collagen production around the thread over the following weeks.
It's a middle-ground option for patients with early signs of sagging who aren't yet ready for, or don't need, a surgical facelift — offering a noticeable but more modest lift, with far less downtime. It's not a replacement for a facelift in patients with significant sagging, and results are temporary rather than permanent.
The threads themselves dissolve naturally over several months, but the collagen stimulation they trigger helps results outlast the threads themselves, typically by 12–18 months in total before a repeat treatment is needed.
