A facelift addresses sagging skin, jowls, and loss of definition along the jawline and neck that come with age-related loss of skin elasticity and repositioning of facial fat. It works by lifting and repositioning the deeper tissue layers of the face — not simply pulling the skin tight — before removing excess skin, which is what gives natural-looking, longer-lasting results compared to skin-only approaches.
Incisions are placed along the hairline and around the ear, designed to be well-concealed once healed. Many patients combine a facelift with a neck lift for a more complete result along the jawline and neck, or with blepharoplasty to address the eye area in the same operation.
